The fight against HIV / AIDS is at a crossroad: Owing to medical research and the engagement of activists all over the world, voices speak of the beginning of the end of AIDS for the first time in the epidemic’s history. But funding is still scarce and on a constant decline. So while there is hope to push back what has killed more people than the wars of the 20th century combined, the UN voices severe concerns whether the international community is able to reach its goals.
